Just fitted a 80w panel and cheap PWM controller and pleased with results-was getting around 5 a and fully charged batteries (2x110a) comfortably.Now I wont be using the van for a bit so do I pull fuse out to panel to stop it charging or just leave it connected permanently?

Leave it connected it will keep your batteries topped up when not in use as long as they are in the sun.

If you add a Battery Master from Van Bitz it will keep the vehicle battery charged up as well.

5 amps is pretty good from an 80 watt panel.

Second the Battery Master recommendation - your vehicle battery will discharge gradually and on a modern M/H there's always something taking a tiny amount of juice.

Would say 5 amps is "very" good for an 80watt panel.

May fit a better (MPPT) dual battery regulator later to replace the cheap PWM.The 5 amps was only when in direct sun-not all day.
