I am sure you can overnight in the car park in Malvern town for a small charge.
The only Malvern town car park in which motorhomes are allowed is Priory Road South and overnight camping is apparently no longer tolerated. See this UK Motorhomes article.

I have once used a lay-by on the A38, (circa 2000/1) a quick look on "Earth" shows it`s still there? 52.050499, -2.179732 BUT it wont be quiet as it is only just off the road. Just had a look again and there is another 52.042828, -2.170016 Which look as if it is better screened?.

less that 10 miles and about 15 Min`s from the Gate!

Be aware lots of others have the same idea.. !!
I re-call something about the car park in Upton and people with Blue badges who parked up in there for about 3-4 days before the show (free) and the locals made some comments....

We stay in Upton regularly £3 overnight, but lots of hgvs and they do make a noise when leaving in the early hours
we stay over to the left near the hedge and get a good nights sleep, I hope they don't stop the overnight parking there too.

That was a few years ago Steve. The council changed the parking order to try to stop abuse.

Officially the current parking order doesn't allow camping in the Upton car park. It was tolerated at first but that now appears to have changed. See Here.

Was planning to travel to somewhere near Malvern on Wednesday but looking at the posts above, and the number of views, plenty of others are planning the same.

Looks like we'd be better off finding somewhere a bit further away and getting up early................!

What time can we actually get in, forgetting what it says in the official blurb?

If you are a MCC member there is a rally at Newham Meadow leading up to the show.

The other thing I used to do was to use my CC Credit Card "Night site" Vouchers (being phased out as we speak "boo hoo") at the nearby (Blackmore) Site for a couple of days prior, this had the benefit that we arrived with FULL water Charged Batteries and empty Black/Waste Tanks too.

But Malvern has gone down hill (as IMV have most "Warner" events) in recent years and I refuse to go now!. I may go to Lincoln, but mainly to catch up with folk we know.

We agree - the music last year was quite dire and we said we'd not go again but the atmosphere and Funster friends have drawn me back for my 11th year.
