Where are you starting from and where is your first stop in Croatia?
Also, how many miles are you prepared to drive in a day?

Hi Busby
Personally I would choose this route through Europe, avoiding Belgium and Austria

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/P...f13e81646da0!2m2!1d2.3767763!2d51.0343684!3e0

The route goes through Switzerland, which some people avoid, but its the route I'm taking in a couple of weeks when we go to Croatia, as the tolls in Switzerland are not expensive. About 2.50 Euro a day, but you have to pay for 10 days. Cheaper than driving though the Mont Blanc Tunnel.

If you need a toll free route let me know

If you're happy with this route its 1036 miles, which you could cover with 3 overnight stops depending on what time you arrive in Dunkrik

If you'd like me to suggest overnight stops en route, simply let me know what time you arrive in Dunkirk and I will provide a plan

Maybe our paths will cross in Croatia?

Regards
Robert

Since May 05 (Ex Tuggers).
Discounting our mileage from home to Folkestone and back, we covered just over 3,000 miles, with Split being the furthest we reached. For a MH over 3500Kgs we paid CH32.00 at Basel, giving us 10 x days travel in Switzerland during a 12 x month period. You cannot purchase a vignette for anything over 3500Kgs.

The Italain, Slovenian, and Croatian toll charges, were much more reasonable than the French Peage charges, (which we avoided) as we didn't get stung on the number of axles. If you just tend to amble along on the non toll roads, that's fine, especially if you have plenty of time on your hands. ;)

Enjoy,

Jock. :)

Bulgaria is cheap, its hot in June, July and August. The Black Sea is like a warm bath until October. The roads are improving each year. If you like pork products its a great country gastronomically.
