Sticks, poles and brollys (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone,

Any novel suggestions for storing walking sticks, poles and brollys?

(The pole is the long handle for the awning/canopy)

They're too long to fit in an overhead cupboard so I'm currently stuffing them in the wardrobe but they bounce about and rattle all over the place. Any suggestions on how to mount them upright in the wardrobe? Perhaps on the back/inside if the wardrobe door?

Or mounting them somewhere else?

Where do you keep yours?

If numbers matter, two brollys, one stick and one pole

Don't know your particular van, but in the two vans I've had, there has been space beside the hab door to prop up long thin things without them getting in the way. Using adhesive pads to attach 2 velcro straps high and low.

We have a slot at the end of our sofa/bed where the walking poles live but this isn't much of a solution if you don't have the same van. But you might find suitable spring clips you can fix inside the wardrobe. Look in your local B&Q or equivalent.

Our brollies are all folding so live in door pockets if not attached to a rucksack when venturing outside. I'm a fan of brollies too, the ultimate breathable waterproof.

A large piece of pipe the width of the garage. It has caps on both ends .. ones sealed the others removable and both have some foam in to stop rattles.
Flag poles .. awning winder ... rafter ... . Perfect...

It's fixed to the roof of the garage... and runs the width of the van...

My van doesn't have any external lockers (or a garage) I'm afraid.

The Velcro straps suggestion had given me an idea! I recent bought a roll of Velcro strap to chop up in to small bits and use as cable tidies (indoors, not in the MH).

I think I might try your very suggestion but on the back of the wardrobe door, one piece high, one low.

I'll let you know how I get on

beware of putting weight on the wardrobe door in time it will weaken the hinges

I've used these 'Spring Clips' to secure wine/beer glasses, awning pole etc. Also you could use them inside the wardrobe.

We screwed the fixing brackets that came with the winding handle for the awning to the side of the unit just as you enter the hab door. The straight section sits upright and the handle end rests in the door well. Have put a strip of helicopter tape on the fibreglass surround to make sure that the handle doesn't mark it. We have an Autotrail Navajo and I think this is a good place to keep it, no more searching in the lockers for it.

I have my golf umbrella in the wardrobe held by black 1.5 inch stickyback Velcro then I put a u section of the loop Velcro so I can slide the unprella into, then finish of with a similar strap at the top of the umbrella

I use the same idea for storing my middle support for the wind out awning under the bed.

I also use the sticky Velcro yo mount both smoke and CO alarms thus not having to drill holes. Great stuff sticky back Velcro

In our Swift we have a hand rail ? As you enter the hab door. The large umbrella and walking sticks are dropped behind there.The winding handle and poles for lilypad screens are simply clipped to back of bathroom wall with tool clips
