After almost a month on the continent we have a question.....where were you all? Not one GB Motorhome or caravan encountered on the entire trip.....not one GB HGV either. So now we are wondering....is this site a work of fiction? Are you all really armchair travellers and not Motorhome owners at all? Met a Swede in Sczcecin, who travels there a lot. He's never met anyone from GB in Poland at all. So just asking....

Most of Europe take their holidays in July up to mid August. English and Welsh schools have just broken up. So most Mhomers will not go to Europe in July/August because it is more expensive and hot or if tied to school holidays will be flooding into Europe from now.

Last year we bumped in to loads of people from the UK but this year, hardly any. We put it down to the fact we were travelling northern europe.

We've been away over ten weeks, probably seen less than a dozen UK MHs. It would be different if we went to the popular bits of Spain I think but compared to the Dutch, German and Belgians the Brits don't seem to get out much!

Our month abroad in June/July was cancelled on health grounds so we will be going in September/October instead.

We had a month touring round France in May/June and also commented on the few GB vans around.
Even on some of the aires that are usually very popular with the Brits like Gruissan and La Mailleraye there were mainly French (surprise, surprise ) with a sprinkling of Dutch, German and Belgian.
We will at least add to the numbers again in three weeks time.

We've been away from home since the Newbury show on May 20th, currently in York but we've been to Apps Court London, Hickstead, Stratford, Lyndon Top, Misterton, Whitby, Falkirk and on North to start the North Coast 500, back down to the Lakes and North Yorkshire Moors via the Lake district and I was wondering.................................................

Just arrived back from a THS in Kendal, will spend a few days at another THS in Falmouth, but usually the MH spends the school holidays unused on our drive. Our son is getting married in September so it will be October before we cross the channel.
