Good evening fine people.

I've always been a bit confused on which ferries are best to take campervans over to the continent. Last time I traveled I got the ferry from Hull to Zeebruge which was fine but this time I would rather only have to travel as far as Newcastle before I got my ferry.

Had a little look on the booking sites just now and as far as I can make out Newcastle ferries don't cater for motorhomes over a certain length (I think it was 3 metres or so). Is this correct?

I would be leaving from Aberdeen so don't really fancy another trip down to Hull so can anyone actually clarify what ferry routes are available to us UK'ers. Where do the ferries from Rosyth (near Edinburgh) go?

Muckle thanks

I have just looked at their website dfds and it appears that you can choose a motorhome with any length. Is this the ferry you were meaning?

Newcastle - Amsterdam Motorhomes up to 4.25H metre nothing about length
Rosyth to Zeebrugge run by Norfolk line as its a freight ship cannot find anything about length, may need to ring them,(y)

Is that the Newcastle ferry?
Yes but go through the directferry link, the dfds one appears to have an error. The direct ferry website does show newcastle one. I thought it said dfds but i may confused :-(.

Still nothing available from Newcastle on the dates I need. Booked a flight from Aberdeen instead. Paid way to much, I should never have opened that first Kronenburg :(

Which airline will take the motorhome as baggage?

As much as I would have loved a trip in the camper it just isn't economical for 1 person with the ferry costing 400 quid +. Unfortunately had to book a flight instead :(

I have been there myself many times. Wanting to travel in a civilised, casual and enjoyable manner but have found the costs prohibitive. I have put the unpleasant journey asside and enjoyed the destination. I hope you have a great time.
