All seems quiet here on the Western Front in Dalyan. It's cok sigac (very hot) but understandably much quieter than normal this time or year. There are half a dozen Brits staying here in the hotel. None of them appear to have been affected by the events of the 15th. Erdogan was 40 miles up the road when it all kicked off. Gunfire had been heard in Marmaris apparently but other than that business as usual. For anyone due to come down to the Aegean in the coming weeks be assured that everything is as normal as far as I can tell.

For the last 5 years around this time of year we would if been in Icmeler ( beside Marmaris ) , having said that we would not of been going there this year due to us now having the MH

Went to Turkey twice, to Olu Deniz and Side, loved the places, but hated all the hassle from restaurant and shop owners tying to pull me (literally in one case) into their premises, never been back and not likely to.

Went there on our honeymoon 28 years ago, beach to ourselves but young lad wandered on with a coolbox selling coca cola!
We stayed in an apartment owned by the mayor who slept on a bed on the "open air " floor below, he had a gun by his side at all times and fired shots at a young chap (pirate!) who fancied his chances with one of the other guests.
Love Turkey but think it is being dragged backwards.

We wildcamped next to the PTT post office near the seafront.
