Has anyone removed the table from the burstner elegance and if so what have they used instead?

Thanks Matt

We removed the table top only and replaced it with a smaller table top made by a cabinet maker who does work for us. Used same screws etc to fit it.
Bit busy at moment but you will get idea of size great size table for 4 and loads more room to move around ... Excuse the shopping display!

Was a newbie, now a Middie.
We also did that on our Hymer. Damned thing weighed in at around three tons, and was only used if the dinette was being made up into a bed, which ours never is, as for some strange and unknown reason, no one in the family will come away with us for a jolly fun-filled holiday......:(

Bizzare as it may sound but we have replaced our dinning table with a bar type pedestal table from Wayfair.

We then have two table tops; one is a high gloss (yellow!!) small kitchen door front from Ikea that is screwed to the top of the pedestal and serves as a great occasional type table perfect for drinks and snacks.

Should we need more space for a family sit down meal we then have a larger more formal table top, which is stored in the wardrobe (also from Wayfair) which using spacers sits nicely ontop of the existing Ikea kitchen door.

Like I said, it sounds bizzare, but works for us and we have this set-up in both the front and rear lounge's of our van.

Affords us far more room for manoeuvring around the van during the day and for accessing the sofa's.

Sorry didnt make it clear, by using same base we can still slide table left, right, back and forward which is really useful especially when travelling. You just have to really work out the extremities of the slide to position it correctly.

we took our table out , removed base which weighed a ton and fitted folding legs from an old caravan table . Covered holes in floor with circular carpet from ikea and stored table on drop down bed. Still had a table big enough for eight to dine around but then could be removed to give a spacious feel to lounge. Made a massive difference ....... No regrets!
