Not long enough!
Looks like if you upgrade after this date, it will cost you :-(
Guess it's forcing customers now to upgrade.

We've nothing left to upgrade or we would. The only dislike I have is improved file protection so sometime it won't let in to one of my own files without a strong talking to.

I upgraded from 8 to 10 reluctantly.
Took about 90 mins and deleted 2 programmes, one was a printer one which doesn't work on 10.
Everything else seems OK, but means finding your way round again.
Maybe that's why I use my Samsung note 3 a lot, it's more consistent.

We're still running Windows 7 on our machines at home but I keep getting 'offers' to upgrade for free ... is there any reason to do so?

Windows 7 currently still has updates but I think it will stop being supported soon. I have a lot of old software MS Office 2000 and such like and I am concerned that it might not run on Windows 10. I use MS Access which is an expensive add on to basic Office.

Windows 7 Ultimate all the way , not tempted at all for the "Free" upgrade to Windows 10 ,, since when did MS ever give you something for nothing .... they are getting their money somehow ,, is it info on the users lifestyle which they then sell on to marketing companies , or will adds start to appear on "Free" versions of Windows 10 after a while .. who knows ???? , anything is possible , i'm just to dubious that a company that has made billions from selling a product for years , all of a sudden give the product away "Free"
Did they do this before ? with say win 98 > Win 2000 > win vista >> win XP or any of their products ??
I'll Pass for the time being , untill my pc becomes obsolete :)

Was a newbie, now a Middie.
I had 7, then the support for Ali's XP was slashed, 7 & 8 are next to go, so I updated to 10 on a freeby. Quite like it, very slick, and it lets me do stuff with cloud and Google. All in all, a pain at first, but once you get used to it........Plus, Windows Defender takes good care of the firewall. (y)
