Have a 2001 van on a 2.8jtd Ducato base. The gearbox (synchro on 3,4,5) is starting to have issues and I am looking for a firm that might do refurbishment on the box or re-con box. Anyone got any idea's?

Cheers,

Keith

Sorry to hear about it and hopefully you'll get it sorted ASAP and back in the road without any worries.

Can I ask as to how its diagnosed as the synchro? Have you checked all the linkages, lubed them etc, as if any are lose then it could be a problem. Just a thought.

why don't you just double de clutch? if you get in the habit of doing it you won't crunch the gears and will save a lot of money,
If and when the clutch needs replacing then I would look at overhauling the Box,

I'd still say check the linkages and change the oil, run it for around 50 miles and see how it goes.

Good luck :)

Not exactly the solution though is it and as the wife does some of the long haul, then that is not an option.
