Our new van ( pick up on Saturday), is 8.0m long and 4250kg.

Am struggling to find a company to provide cover....can anybody advise?

Thanks

Looked into this and saw various negative comments and would rather deal with a UK based company. The vast majority of our travelling will be in the UK.

Thanks
That's up to you but they use the AA if you breakdown in the UK

Hi As you probably already know your van is too heavy for the likes of AA, RAC and Greenflag; if it’s just UK and European breakdown cover try "LV Britania Rescue” Tel: 0800 756 8700. They cover up to 7 tonnes and according to Which beat their competition in both performance and price in fact they where No 1 in the latest Which survey. Hope this helps, good luck

I don't think that's quite correct as we have a van weighing in at 4250kg and a car and trailer and both are covered by Comfort insurance with breakdown cover for UK and EU.

Comfort insurance
Sorry yes I should have said the mainstream breakdown companies. Both my wife’s car and my car were covered by the AA for years and since we have had a motorhome we have had separate breakdown cover for both motorhome and cars; which was a bit daft. Our motorhome is over 3500kg which is a limiting factor with the other mainstream companies i.e. AA, RAC, Green Flag etc. I switched everything from the AA to LV Britania who now cover all three of our vehicles as they are able to recover vehicles/motorhomes with a weight up to 7 tonnes. In addition to the weight issue I chose LV because of their top rating by Which, plus it was a significant saving for us.

Well I finally got it sorted.

Got lots of quotes for the insurance and the breakdown cover and it proved how important it is to read the small print.

I evengot UK and European cover for £69. They will take up to 8.5m and up to 5500kg.
