Just noticed fridge lights are off. Help.

Dometic RM7655L
No power to the control panel.
Interior fridge light off
Fridge not cooling - currently in France, 25° outside!

Had the back off and there is 12.7v to the 12v connector block!

EBL 99 fuse ok. But when I removed the fuse from the EBL there is still power to the connector block in the back of the fridge! Is there another fuse somewhere?

Any guidance gratefully received.

You may get some ideas from a thread I started when ours did the same:
Broken Link Removed

It was the motherboard behind the top strip, a bit of fiddling around may help restore a connection if yours is the same problem.
Our dealers didn't find the problem when we took it in (hoping to avoid future blackouts), but when it went for a hab service at our local authorised people they spotted it & changed the motherboard even though we hadn't mentioned the previous problem.

We had a similar problem on our Dometic fridge freezer except that it started off as intermittent.
I took the vent grill off and fiddled, poked and prodded around at the back and found that the power went on and off as I prodded.
Eventually found it was a loose connector that eventually fell out.
There was a ribbon cable (same as computer connectors) that led from somewhere at the top, ran down the centre at the back and plugged in close to the bottom with a small 90º multi pin connector.
It hadn't been fitted tight in manufacture and vibrated loose, also on one of the hottest days of the year.

Might be the same thing.

Richard.

Pasted from Dometic manual. Now you are going to ask where the power module is! I will keep reading.

fuses

The refrigerator is equipped with two 5 A fuses - one for 12V DC and one for the AC heater.

rePlaCing the fuses

1. Tun off the refrigerator. 2. Unplug the power cord 3. Open the power module cover. 4. Snap the fuse out of the fuse holder. 5. Fit the new fuse in to the fuse holder. 6. Close the power module cover.

Thanks.
Had the panel out and wiggled all in sight.
No luck yet.

Thanks. Given all the wires a pull and all seem secure. Will keep on trying!

Right.
Checked/pulled/wriggled/undone/redone everything I could find.

There is 12v power at the power module but it refuses to show any signs of life.

Now to find nearest spot to La Rochelle/ Nantes that can help.

Thanks for all your help so far.

I always read the fridge threads with interest in the hope of sorting a problem easily when it arises in our van. Oh well!

Could be faulty power module or something equally terminal.

Invite your neighbours for a BBQ is about the best I can come up with.

Have you tried pulling the main fuse/removing 12volt and see if it will reboot.

Sorry not very helpful.

Cheers Martin. It is not new enough to reboot. A 2007 vintage mechanical model.

Got a couple of spot in Nantes we will be visiting tomorrow!

And yes, it may be a mass bbq as freezer is full, and mostly meat

I wouldn't dismiss the reboot, we have an oddity or two on our MH 07 vintage, (not just the fridge) switch off electroblok and turn on, sometimes does it, also remove the main output fuse from same (a bigger than normal fuse), that has fixed things

Good luck with it, there seems to be an epidemic of fridge issues this month

Thanks David. Had a go with reboot and already removed fuses for checking.
Got wet feet when the boiler dumped!

Now been to the dometic spot at Nantes. The permanent live next to the d+ block is not permanent. Now got a temporary link from 12v heater element supply, to permanent 12v.

Must be a fuse somewhere but it is not any on the electroblock or on the starter battery. Have to try and shift the passenger seat (groan) and see if there is one on the hab batts. The book says that it is only a 2 amp fuse so will not need much to pop it.

So good news is now all is working except aes so I have to remember to change it when necessary.

The other good news is the lamb, beef and chicken did not defrost.
The best news is we are now having a glut of spanish sausages with the already planned belly pork, and a more generous portion of prawns on the prawn salad than ever before!

Glad your fixed. Finally sorted my problem, EGR valve feeding bad info to ECU, disconnected and engine runs fine.
