Hi, we will be visiting some friends in Christchurch beginning of August, Can anyone suggest a spot to park a Motor home overnight. Unfortunately they live in a residential area with narrow roads. I did try Meadowbank campsite but they only have Standard pitches for a short stop over and our camper at 7.16 meters is too long.

are you looking for free or a campsite?
free at the foot of st catherines hill off marsh lane at Jumpers. only good for an overnight but no services
campsites you need to look at Hurn, fillybrook farm or mount pleasant touring park. 3 miles away from the centre of town

or there is a longstay carpark in the middle of town near waitrose. have seen vans overnight there but dont leave anything outside the van

online you may see references to empty industrial parks and the old stylesouth carpark. these are now building sites

Tried calling them, they can only offer standard pitches for a short stay and apparently at 7.16 meters our Motor home is too big.

That's a shame - I was going to recommed Meadowbank, I use it when I go to visit minimus in Boscombe and have found it absolutely first class. Very clean and very reasonable. My van is <6m but the pitches they give me would fit a 7m van. I suppose rules is rules.

There do seem to be a few overnighters in the side roads round Boscombe.

There's also a CS about a mile away at Yeoman's Road but I haven't used it

You can't leave the MH unattended overnight but it is a lovely spot and your friends could come and visit you
