just driven through Spain on way to Marbella. At every toll road if you show your badge at a manned toll booth they drop the price to class 1 same as a car. Not sure in France as never saw a manned booth

6.5. Are there any discounts for disabled people?

Yes. Blue badge holders who have a Class 2 vehicle (not valid for car + caravan) are entitled to be charged at Class 1 rate if the vehicle is adapted for disabled persons. However, in order to be charged at Class 1 rate in the automated lane, you will need to stop and press the intercom button to request the correct toll to be applied. Alternatively you can use the manual lane and hand over your tag to be scanned. Please note the reduction is applied at the discretion of the particular auto route operator of the toll road you are using. More information can be found at http://www.autoroutes.fr/en/services-for-disabled-people.htm

That is very good - I can't see that happening here!

It was always so in France, but Spain must be a recent thing.

Unless you´ve got twin rear axles, motorhomes are all class 1 in Spain.

Last summer going north on the AP7 on our way up to Holland we stopped at the toll booth and handed the young lad a 10 euro note, and when we got the change the wife said
´we´ve been overcharged´. Sure enough we´d been charged class 2, when I pointed out to him that class 2 was for 2 axles, he pointed at the front and back of our motorhome, and said you´ve got 2 axles! He refused to believe that the rules was for 2 rear axles, and went and got his supervisor, who shook her head and gave us a refund immediately. Won´t happen this summer, we´ve now got a transponder so just sail through toll booths without stopping (legally!).

I was just about to post about that but wasn't totally sure as my experience has mainly been with the 5'er and then caravan, we were only ever charged class 2 once and that was with the 5'er.

Spain is the same price as cars anyway unless you have 3 axles then it's cheaper.
