A Woosh bang
We visited yesterday to attend a Choral Evensong at the St. Edmundsbury Cathedral to celebrate the 90th Birthday of HM The Queen.. Charlotte was in the Ecclesiastical procession representing the Woodbridge Army Cadets.

As we may visit again with the van I checked out the motorhome parking.. and despite the car park being rammed full, there were still a couple of empty spaces.. which was reassuring..

however.. also parked was what looked like a Itinerant caravan.... not in any of the motorhome bays .. but behind them..It's this sort of abuse that annoys me.. it's just not right..

anyways.. a couple of picture.. Motorhome parking and Charlotte testing out a princess wedding horse drawn carriage .. I guess a girl can dream..

Had one for 5 years many moons ago. Now starting again.
Love Bury St Edmunds.
It's our first choice if we need to shop in a bigger place. Far nicer than Cambridge.
Lots of good restaurants/cafés and a super market on a Saturday. It's one of those towns that makes you feel welcome.
Great photos Jim and a very proud time. Well done to you both.

yes indeed.. it's very similar Woodbridge .. near where we live.. a typical Suffolk market town

Driven past it many times, but never actually visited.. we plan to go back with the motorhome and spend more time exploring..

If you are visiting by car then park in that same car park where you saw the motorhome spaces and it's £2.40 for the day. The car park by the new shopping mall is more expensive but again there's a long term one on the other side of the road from that one behind the cinema and it too is £2.40 all day for a car. You can use the same parking ticket on both car parks if you want to save the legs a bit.
If you want a special meal try The Pea Porridge - http://peaporridge.co.uk/ - it's a short stroll from the m/h parking but resident parking only by the restaurant. Right next to the old brewery where you can sit and have a drink before the Pea Porridge. Not expensive but superb for lunch - they even make their own fizzy water.

It was really odd.. After the heavens opened up for about 20 minutes as we were setting up, it all stopped and apart from a very few spots about 22:30 it remained warm and dry..
It all finished at about 0200 hrs .. It would proly have gone on longer but the booze ran out !
