I visit a farm in Derbyshire and they provide free firepits and supply wood to burn on them.

I really enjoy my visits there sitting outside with a nice fire and a few beers.

I want to replicate this when I go elsewhere but don't want to carry a large firepit and loads of logs. I just tripped over these on Amazon and wondered if anyone had used them or similar?

I like the look of this BBQ/Firepit as it is smallish at only 20cm x 30cm. The logs I like because they are neat and tidy and are said to burn for a lot longer?

Just wondering about recommendations. This is primarily for heat outside when off hookup but may be used occasionally for a charcoal bbq.

Storage space is an issue for me so I need something pretty compact. And no I am not interested in a Cadac or other Gas system :p

PS: This is a shot of the view with the firepit :) As you can see too big to fit in the van.

I thought the Amazon device was simple a chimney used to start a BBQ?

Any small BBQ will do the job.. I use a Weber Go Anywhere .. after eating a few logs keeps it burning ..

van steel wheels make excellent fire pits when stood of 3 or 4 bricks to allow airflow underneath

So it is, I've been using a Weber one for years, an excellent bit of kit, it gets the coals going in no time at all and holds just enough coals to create a fine BBQ.
