Need more info, what happens when you turn key, nothing, tries to start, just a click, might help to point to problem.

Dodgy alternator or duff flat battery maybe. Are you in the AA or RAC?

Also try putting the headlights on - if they won't stay bright for a couple of seconds or dim right down when the engine tries to turn then the battery is probably kapput. Obviously don't try this for too long.

If the battery is u/s then beware of "getting going" because you may conk out somewhere less agreeable!

AA RAC Greenflag whatever?

PS don't tell them you're in a layby - AA wouldn't come out to me one time because I'd managed to get off the road - they said they were an emergency service only and if I wasn't on the carriageway, I wasn't an emergency!

Once had the same problem on a Granada, eventually traced to a loose connection to the starter motor.

Had this happen to us recently. Had driven 30 miles. Stopped for about half an hour. Went to re-start. Lights on dash but engine would not turn over. It was a loose wire, as Humsafer says.

Started now. Don't understand. Only thing we did was arm and disarm non starter. Not sure what happened. Just very grateful it has . Thanx. Will keep an eye :/

If you have an immobiliser, it could well be that. Your 'arm and disarm' may well have sorted it.

On some bike alarm/immobilisers, they can get interference from radio masts (often not visible at petrol stations) or overhead power lines. Moving a hundred yards or so can clear the problem - not so easy with a motorhome though!

It happens all the time. You've probably just inadvertantly pressed the imobiliser button. It often happens with me when I put the keys in my pocket
