Hi can anyone recommend a good site to get a motorhome checked against hpi, insurance write off , stolen ,etc etc prior to purchase , one with insurance guarantee or is that part not worth the paper they are written on due to all the get out clauses :)

HPI and follow the basic rules and you will be fine, main ones are chance V5 number against vehicle vin number, and only ever buy from the address on the V5. Sounds obvious but also make sure that have access to the address.

If HPI get anything wrong you have an insurance backed guarantee to refund purchase costs etc. If the vehicle subsequently turns out to be stolen/written off etc.

To maintain the HPI guarantee you MUST enter the document number of the CURRENT V5.....the V5 with the present selling keepers details.

Failure to use this document number only voids their accuracy guarantee..

Buying from a dealer you have redress on the dealer providing they don't go bump. Best indication of of guenuine owner is it they have all the recepts from serviceing & work done on the van from the year dot.

Shouldn't make any difference.
The trader won't register in their name but will/should register the dealer section of the V5.
HPI only want the document number, not the registered keeper details.
