Dear experts.

I have just visted my MoHo, which is in storage, to prepare it for our forthcoming week away 'up t' North'.

l had a look at the power display and both the status bars for my leisure and vehicle batteries are in the green with over 13 and 14 volts respectively. The solar status bar indicated that it was operative and charging at 2 volts and I also attach a small solar panel to trickle charge the vehicle battery when left. I have 2 leisure batteries fitted.

My AH readout however is at 1% and in the red. Why would this be please.

Thanks in advance.
Best regards
Nik.

(Just incase it's useful info, the vehicle is a 2012 Autotrail Delaware with the standard electric display).

Both batteries are fully charged.
The amp rate reduces to next to nothing once charged, thats the reason for the regulator.....to prevent overcharging.
You either misread the status voltage or there was very little output from the regulator at the time.....or the 2v was a typo.
Even in weak sun it would show around 12v or more.

Hi it's hard to always pick things up correctly..but what you are seeing I think is the connected solar panel voltage on the batteries..ie 13v and 14 v.. I'm thinking that the solar status is showing it's charging at 2 amps not volts...
The amp hour readout in %terms I'm not sure about but if it's in red I thought that would mean your batteries are still taking a charge.. ie still in deficit..
A picture might help someone explain...

Hi Nick. . I don't know what the %battery column is about... I would expect to see your %capacity higher than that... is it reliant or will only be meaningful after certain inputs about the battery bank capacity.. do you have the instructions or info to hand ??
It does look like your leisure battery is accepting a 1.6 amp charge so it's not fully charged.. It's also showing a .5 amp load but you may have lights on...
Sorry I can't be more help but someone will I'm sure know that panel from your pictures.
Andy.

Battery monitors get very confused when the battery continuously receives a charge, as it does with a solar set up, but there is little discharge. Mine seems to think that the batteries are at about 60% after 2 weeks of being left standing, however when applying a big load, like turning on the inverter and making a coffee, it will jump up to 95%.
Your readings look good, apart from the AH, use the van and see what happens to that reading.

I met another autotrail owner who had the same problem.
His solar regulator did not go thru the vans system but straight to the batteries causing confusion on the panel.
Panel showed low battery power but they could watch tv for 5 hours!
Hope it's as simple with yours.
