Lots of grass raking and hay moving today, without the aid of the ride on mower (it has thrown a wobbly and refuses to budge).

My VIP guests then fire up their BBQ and force me to consume a Hereford steak the size of a small house.

Just when I thought I could get away and resume my fitness regime and diet, Kath emerges from her mobile palace with a bowl full of Brambly Apple pie and double cream.

It would have been rude not to eat it all up.

The sacrifices we hosts have to make for their visitors...

The 1987, Briggs and Stratton powered, ride on mower (and trailer puller) went on strike yesterday in sympathy with magnificent French workers.

It would not start.

Luckily on site was Wales' top mechanic (retired) who assessed the situation and suggested a new spark plug.

So a trip into Figueira dos Vihnos today.

First Champers emptied out the local Intermarche supermaket and afterwards we lunched in a very local restaurant.

Next a (proper Champion) sparkplug was purchased, coffees was drunk at the cafe across the road and, after taking the (fantastic) scenic route back to QMJ, the plug was fitted and the beautiful machine fired up first twist of the key.

Then the ruddy workforce went for a nap.

What is the point?

This is a health farm... taking in selected, out of condition, folk and sending them out, after their stay, all toned, fit and brown.

For this, many places charge a small fortune... here the fees are insignificant in comparison.

I need it NOW, but my UK Supplier seems to have been distracted by private motorhome projects... what has happened to reliability these days?

One sets a simple task like the purchase of a fully operational, tracked, second hand, mini-digger for under £1000 and months later... nothing.
