PS: This is a good upgrade from most in built chargers. The last 2 commercial vans I had Hymer etc both had either a 10 Amp or at best a 16Amp charger in them.

If you are taking two 110AH batteries from 60% you need to put around 90Ah in to the battery. Roughly speaking a 10Amp charger will take 9 hours this will take 4 hours. I do realise this is not entirely accurate for the technical minded on here as the bulk phase is not the entire charge cycle but it gives some idea of the difference it can make.

It reduces the running time of the generator (y) or the amount of time you need on hookup to bulk charge the battery bank.

I have just moved up to a Sterling 50Amp charger so my 1Kw generator doesn't need all day to bulk up my battery bank. I am not getting rid for any other reason. I was going to keep it as a back up but my solar panels do a great job anyway and this is just using up valuable space :(

@Gromett Is this still available? The link is no longer working. What is the capacity of the charger in terms of amp hours of battery that it will charge?

I have it somewhere in my van. I will dig it out. I used it on my 500Ah battery bank. I think that is probably as much as I would use it on tbh.

If it charged 500amp hours of batteries I'm sure it will cope with my 220ah.

@Abacist The link is not working because Amperor are re-vamping their web site.

I understand that but it now means I have no idea of the make, model or any pictures of Gromett's charger so he needs to find another source!
