Has anyone any experience of this journey?

We are booked on the fast ferry (4.5hrs) and have booked for the dogs to stay in the van. The write up on the Condor site says that we can ask to be escorted to the car deck during the crossing. We thjink we will probably be OK popping down just the once but wanted to know if it is likely there will be a problem with this in reality - I can't imagine the crew really want to be going up and down to the deck just so we can give our pooches a smooth..

We are on the ferry outbound from Poole on 26th May if anyone else is heading that way...

Just discovered EHIC doesn't cover me but my travel insurance with Nationwide bank account does.. but not Ms Tiggs..

Re medical - they don't have brilliant hospital facilities either - I mean they have all the basics alright - but not specialisms.

But at least they speak English ! LOL

Can't you add Ms Tiggs for an AP?

Jersey has a reciprocal arrangement for medical care for UK citizens which will cover emergency treatment - but travel insurance is recommended otherwise you will have to pay for any non-urgent stuff such as a visit to a GP.

I'm going to phone today and ask them but pre existing conditions aren't covered of course.

Searched the forum last night and found that we can overnight at Poole on the way out for £10 so that's good news..

If you fancy a meal the night before try the Portsmouth hoy on the quay, we've been a couple of times in the last couple of weeks, the food is great. They allow dogs in too.
