My wife Kath has just finished reading a book set in Saltburn by the Sea, she now wants us to spend the weekend over there. Anybody know any good 'wilding' spot, nice and secluded, in the area?

There is an "Aire" in Guisbrough set up by GJH you can use.
Alternately as you head from Guisbrough to Skelton you will see a cemetary on your left. Turn left at the roundabout and left again and tuck in at the dead end. We often see m/homes parked there wild camping.

the cemetery sounds like a good Dead end spot, will give that a try, we like quiet neighbours! Is the location nearer Guisbrough or Skelton, on the left from Guisbrough or Skelton?

As you leave Guisbrough heading for Skelton the Cemetary is on your left. You then come to a small roundabout where you turn left for Redcar and the cemetary turning is on your left. Approx 1/2 mile from Guisbrough and 2 miles from Skelton.

Saltburn

If you go into Saltburn First check out the Pay and Display Carpark near the Toilets on the Sea Front I have seen Motorhomes parked up there so maybe there are no signs about overnight Stays.I have also seen vans parked up on the Sea Front between Redcar and Marske near all the Sand dunes. If you are a member of the Caravan Club there is a new CL at Skelton that is near the turn off for Upleatham only a few miles from Saltburn - Sue

Near Redcar

We stayed at the car park on the Sea Front between Redcar and Marske near all the Sand dunes a few weeks ago. Really nice place and surprisingly quiet. Lovely beack for an early morning walk.
