The aire at Rue du Port is being extended. They have made gaps at each end of the existing parking so that motorhomes can drive through onto the grass area which has been marked out with bricks set in the grass with spaces large enough for motorhomes. The ground even now after rain is firm probably no danger of getting stuck. Effectively this doubles the size of the aire so perhaps we won't be allowed on the harbour facing part in front of the garage when the work is completed. This was always a problem on market days with cars and Motorhomes together so perhaps this area will be cars only and everyone will be catered for.

Interesting, I wonder why they are doing that as the place has never been close to full when we have been there, perhaps as you say moving the Motorhomes back from the harbour side.

That's really handy as we're heading up to Scandinavia in June. We've tried to use Gravelines in the past (we take a late crossing and overnight as soon as we can) but on several occasions haven't been able to get on. Thanks for the info.
