Our second outing in 'Joy' started badly. We woke this morning to find raw sewage all down our front drive. Eek help luckily southern water were really good and a very jolly chap arrived in an hour. The whole street one side was blocked. It turns out someone dropped a brick down their drain cover!!!! Not nice
Great we thought off to the Forest of Dean Lovely site plugged in electric and went to switch on gas... Hisssss it wasn't sealed. Much huffing and puffing as we only had a single spanner and with help from a tugger on the next pitch finally found that the o ring was missing. OH really needed that tea now, no beer on board. Luckily found it in the bottom of the gas locker so all ended well. Now just need to sort out why the fridge wouldn't work on the leisure battery while driving. Each trip is a steep learning curve. Tried out the Remoska it's great.

Unless you have a compressor fridge it doesnt run off the leisure battery at any time.
It runs off the alternator/cab battery when the engine is running via a relay....pretty much the same as the split charge relay for the hab battery.
The relay may have failed in some way not allowing current to reach the fridge.

not long enough
don't expect too much out of the fridge when on 12V even when driving, from my experience unless you have got it cold before leaving on mains at home, or when leaving a site with mains, the 12V will do very little on the journey

It will keep it cool but not get it cool (y)

many many years! since I was a kid
and dont be confused, the 12v option from the alternator will keep a prechilled fridge cold, but generally will not cool down from ambient temperature. the 12v heating element does not get as hot as the 220v element or gas flame
