my heater switch is only working on speed 4 and I understand that it's a common problem on the Mercedes sprinter, I've got a 2006 Rapido Aclass ... Anyone know where it's located before I go and pull it all apart to find it...
Cheers..
Garry

Not specific to Mercedes but heater resister pack is usually right next to the fan unit so it is directly in the air flow.
Look for the fan below the dash on passenger side in general.

I'll have to have a look & see if my Ducato one is hidden in their as well as it only works on full speed. Just a question of remembering .lol

Hi @Techno I realised recently my fan only seems to work on position 4 on ducato 244 (2003) is this likely to be the same fault and part needed to rectify ?
Do you anything of where it is located on mine or if it's an easy fix.
Many thanks
Chris

It is most likely in the same place but I don't know the fuse nor the relay involved but yes probably the resister pack has failed

Well after about an hour dismantling the dash couldn't find it... Then 5mins under the hood had it out in 2 mins...:swear2:

Still I now know my dash inside out..!

Picture of culprit and a bit bigger then I thought...

Just thought I'd let people know that I put the new one in this morning and the fan speed switch is now working as it should... A five minute job in the engine bay (y)

It's a good job I waited to get the old one out @Techno before ordering as it was a different fitting then the one we looked at on eBay, the van is just on the change over from 05 to 06 models....
