Having just sold our van we rang Safeguard to cancel our policy. I told them that we had recommended them to the new owner (who had indeed arranged insurance with them).

Usually there is a £25 cancellation fee but she 'waived' this as a thankyou. We even get a small refund for the unused portion of the insurance (which is only a few weeks anyway) AND we will receive the full NCD that we would have otherwise received.

We spent some time (for a change!) looking at various MH insurers and Safeguard offered best value even with full EU cover. Just about to renew for third year. Well worth a call.

i got a good quote from safeguard yesterday ,they quoted me £695.00 for insurance on a 95k van ,which in the great scheme of things i thought was a fair amount ,still trying to get other quotes though

Our quote with Safeguard went up by £50 this year. One interesting thing I learned was that if your MH is under repair they will promise you a vehicle until it is fixed. I asked would this be a MH and they said no, so you could end up with a Mini.

I got a quote from Safeguard today for new motorhome, even with a new policy discount it was still £60 dearer than caravan guard who I was with last year, they didn't want to budge either
