last two tvs on this tesco page...scroll down to the bottom.

Tesco £129 and £99.

i think you'll find none of these is what you think of as 12v.

thay are all 230v but the power is transformed to 12v through a small black box in the power lead.
chuck the box away and connect to 12v direct.

you can buy voltage stabilizers to smoth the 12v as LCD tv's done like to much voltage variation......ie.....11v and it wont run.....14v and it could blow it electricaly

You will find what you are looking for on Ebuyer.com, always worth reading the reviews. We got ours for £85 and very happy with it.

Isn't that just a 240v telly, with an inverter? Wouldn't that drain the battery pretty quickly?

I wonder if he knows what he is talking about - yes it could be an inverter and you'll waste 15% or so going from 12 to 240 but it could also be a 12V regulator.

If you like it ask if the "inverter" has a normal 240 socket that the power supply plugs into or try and get a picture of it.

cant find on tesco but this might help Link Removed

carl

Be carefull with this set as it is 50 watts .Akura do 15" sets only 22 watts well worth the saving of power used. Also I don't really think there is a need for voltage stabalisers especially on a modern van . Have used an Akura which I cut the transformer out and fitted a 12v for 5yrs with no problems .:thumb:
