Hi All,

Left over from our days when we had an Auto car (no jump starting) I recently came across this in our garage.
s-l225.jpg

Notwithstanding that it's been fossilising in there for God knows, (other religions are available) I can't find the dedicated Mains charging socket for it.
I've plugged in a 12v jobby but I don't think it's doing the best job.

If anyone out there has the above item, could you post on here the technicals (ie voltage, ampage etc) of the charging mains socket so that I can give this item the charge it so richly deserves.

Just to add, although it's been idling for a few years, the tyre inflater works well meaning that the inbuilt battery seems to have held up

Thank you very much Davanne.

That's exactly what I wanted to know.

No wonder the 12v charger wasn't doing much.
Taa again.

If its been left unattended for some time without charging you will probably require a new battery.

If its been in 'storage' that long the best charger in the world wont make it go.

It contains a lead acid battery, possibly 17ah, and lead acid batteries are killed by being stood discharged
The compressor wont take much current compared to a full starting cycle so tje battery may seem ok.

I'm sure your theory is right Papa But it did inflate/change the tyre pressures on four tyres without missing a beat. It must be good for something.
I'm not asking it to do jumps. I would add that just using a 12v charger it's showing more than that on the dial.

On a charger it should be showing around 13
7v...unless its a very old analogue charger.

I have the remains of one kicking about in my garage.
parts cannabilised for more useful purposes.
Left uncharged for a year the battery was shot so added it to my scrap battery pile and got a few quid off the scrapman.
Lead clamps used to replace the damaged clamps on my jump leads.
Compressor....not worth sh!t so left in place.
Gauge, plugs and sockets used elsewhere.
Work Light....just a cheap torch so left in.

ROLSON....equivilent to £ shop tat.
