I am feeling very lucky today, the owner of LEDCOM rang me to say they have designed new led running lights for the new model Peugeot base vehicle, and would I mind if he came round and fitted them to use my van for his brochure, they are very sexy and we had a choice of gloss black or silver, hubby won he chose black, the last ones he fitted were great and work perfectly, but these fit in the step well on the front bumper, and are going to look great.

Never heard of a woman before who thought led running lights were sexy!
Not sure I could think of them in that way either

Are you going to post a photo ? May change my mind about them

DRLs must be easily the most pointless bit of legislation to ever come out of Europe.

Pretty sure that big ball of fire In the sky gives of more than enough light

And what's the thinking behind only having them on the front?

@Lynne Steele
Thanks for the heads-up. Was going to get some anyway, but have just ordered a pair from Lecom (there are others :D).

DRL's are a marmite thing. Personally, I think they're a good safety feature as they DO catch the eye of both other drivers and particularly
pedestrians. Much more power efficient than driving around on dipped headlamps too.

Trials of London Taxis using dim-dip headlamps were known to reduce pedestrian casualties. DRL's are just a modern equivalent?

They came as standard on mine and the wife's car and I'm glad they did! You could argue that if someone can't see a bleedin' great Motorhome, they shouldn't be on the road, but some don't!!

Just a matter of choice again I guess?

Not so good now that most vehicles are showing them.

Before that we stood out more when on the bike. Even so I have still had a couple of "Sorry mate. Didn't see you" experiences. Fortunately neither led to serious consequences.

They do catch the eye and while the eye is caught it misses that pedestrian, that cyclist, that motorcyclist.

There is no choice.

Hopefully the pedestrian will see the reversing light when you are going backwards.:)

I'm struggling to form an answer to that, particularly the last sentence! :ROFLMAO:

The best explanation is to consider why a lighthouse has a socking great big light on top of it. Why? It doesn't need to see where it is going?

If we'd had DRL's on our Bessacarr E745 perhaps the the dozy farmer wouldn't have pulled out in front of us & wrote it off, said he didn't see us!!! I said its over 3 *"%$ing meters high, 7 & half long nearly 4 ton how the "*%k did you not see us!!!! Now look what you've started, going to lie down now.:crying::doh:;)

As I've ordered a pair, I downloaded the wiring diagram and destructions from the Ledcom site today. The job looks fairly straight forward, so I lifted the bonnet today to have a 'butchers'. Thought I might get ahead of the game and familiarise myself with cable runs and what bit goes where before the parcel arrives!

Years ago I drove a Volvo 740 estate, 1989 I think. It had DRL's both front and back but it never caught on obviously.

We recently purchased a set from Ledcom via ebay for our 2010 model & are very pleased with them + they fill the unsightly '' step '' recess nicely as well.
:)

Just need some foglamps with the elusive fixing brackets to finish off :)

We have ledcom drl's .. I think they look fine and do make the front of the van more noticeable.
