Living the dream.
It always goes up very quickly but takes months to come down and what pisses me off is they put the prices up with cheap fuel they bought last month in their tanks instead of selling that off first!:mad:

Was expected - pound is only 1.44 against the dollar and fuel is priced in USD, plus feedstock prices are on the up as well

Thats got bugger all to do with it.....

Summers coming.
Why? Do tell..... Would appreciate some information to back up that rather sweeping statement.

FYI Feedstock prices usually fall, not rise when summer comes around, due to declining demand in USA until the winter stocking season......

The comment was tongue in cheek...but it always goes up as summer (holiday season) approaches....but the same generally applies to diesel as well as feedstock.
America uses diesel for domestic heating so in winter demand is extremely high usually pushing up the price of crude.

Diesel is a blended product directly from feedstocks so practically the same thing. I don't have access to Platts indices any more but the whole demand supply cycle is interesting. Historically gasoline demand in USA has risen due to the summer "driving season" but this has largely disappeared. Mostly, prices of fuel in UK are directly linked to demand in the Rotterdam market. Yes, the demand in USA increases in the winter stocking season
