Hello and welcome to the fun.:thumb:

Your lucks not in yet but people do have Kontiki vans honest. They have always seemed OK

never heard any one swearing that loudly at one.:winky:

Best of luck.

Hi Malcolm, :welcome: to motorhome fun, our last van was a Kontiki on a R reg, we liked the van and it never gave us any problems.

But to be honest, we would not buy another, the later one's have had trouble with rotting floors, and we wanted a van we could use all year, and got fed up with all the draughts and the water freezing up.:Eeek: So we brought a German van, and would again, without a doubt. Bob.

hi malcolm and welcome to the madhouse.

we have a 2001 kontiki 640 L. (thats the rear lounge model)

starting at the front.......no problems whatsoever with the Fiat 2.8 turbo engine.
but...make sure the cambelt has been changed....it'll be due one because of vans age not mileage. DIY around £85. garage around £350/£400 probably.

moving back......partly blocked sink waste that wasnt ! .....poor waste pipe installation....easy fix.
leaking kitchen window seal.....removed and resealed by me...easy fix.

still further back....slide out bed frame (part of lounge couch) broken when bought but "fixed" by dealer...still broken but now secured with cable ties.

other than that no problems at all and no reverse judder:thumb:

survived two MOTs with nothing more than a new rear tyre (cut in sidewall)

Hi malcolm and welcome

Well worth paying for the RAC or AA to do a vehicle inspection prior to purchase

There are some lovely motorhomes out there of all different makes and models, some really well looked after and others not so.

Make sure you really DO try out the bed to make sure it meets your needs and get them to show you all the interior is working ie gas, hot water, shower etc etc.

More than that I cant comment, I hope you get what you want xxxx
