After the hab door saga I've had with Bailey ( new door now fitted but was done just before our NZ trip so has never been used in anger ) the question I'm asking is

" what is the correct method / procedure to close shut a hab door from inside or out ? "

Bang shut ? Gentle pull in and click close ? Let the wind take it ?

Cheers !

As someone who has just had a hab door repaired I can confirm it should just close gently and click shut. Ours does now from inside or out.

I think you have to do whatever you need to do to close it properly.
We had an older Autotrail which we had to slam to close properly and no amount of adjustment wold improve it (not very popular on campsites during the night ;))
However, with our current van, just a gentle push/pull is required and this must have less impact on the door and surroundings. If your door has just been fitted I would expect it to close gently.

We have an Autograph 745. We had to slam the door of our last MH which was a Tribute and our friends had to slam the door of their Kon Tiki. I thought it was the norm.

Ours requires a final "tug" from the inside to get that final click shut..
And a gentle "push" from the outside once it's almost home..

Ours is the same, the top lock engages with no effort, but the lower one needs a little encouragement.

I was corrupted as a young child by my Mum who used to watch him on Saturday night when he did the generation game ... now I know that when he said "Oh, what a gay day" he didn't mean it was just nice weather! Not sure that my Mum knew at the time though as I don't think she'd have let me watch!!! :D
