On the dash of our 2012 Peugot Boxer base van for our Bailey 620, is a small rocker switch (left to right). I've looked in the handbook but there is no reference to it but it isnt shown. Have tried switching it to see if it may be an immobiliser but the van starts in both poaitions.
Any ideas as to its purpose?

Have you reverseing warning bleepers fitted .? If you have it may well be the cancelling switch so that they don't sound at night time's.

If you didn't but the MH new it may be an aftermarket switch controlling something fitted by the previous owner ?

Are there any symbols on the switch ?

It could be a changeover switch for the radio.I had one fitted to mine.when on site I switch it over so that the radio runs off the leisure battery.

Lots to look at here, thanks. I am away for 10 days but when back, will check to see whether it is a radio switch as Masman suggests or the reversing bleepers. I dont recall hearing bleepers when reversing so will check for this too.
If neither are the answer, I'll post a picture.

Thank you very much for your suggestions/advice.

It turns out that the switch was installed by the previous owner so that both the radio and satnav could be used without the key in the ignition. Now I know, this is a really useful idea.
Thanks all.

I've found a small black button on the drivers side of the dash as well - looks like when you push it a small red LED comes on for a moment, then goes off...a bit like to sport button on an Astra.. but does sweet FA.
I thought it may be to do with the tracker I've had fitted but the installer says no...
Strange I haven't noticed it before..

I still think it is useful but take the point about listening for too long.

No it isnt.
A couple of days radio use could leave you with a flat engine battery
We use our radio a lot when parked and I haven't run the battery flat yet.. I do worry that one day I will though..I like the idea of a switch to feed leisure power in though...

What if the leisure battery switch is on and you turn on the ignition though. Will that feed 24v to the radio? Anybody know if radios can handle 24v?
