Im looking to buy a non tow bar type bike rack for my motorhome and hope to be able to get a good cover for the bikes and have a good bike lock to secure the bikes for while were travelling around but will probs remove them and put them in the M/H during the night.
Can anyone reccomend me something to look into or any pics would be great !

Just saying a Fiat Ducato is no good at all, you need to be more specific as very many motorhomes are built on a Fiat Ducato chassis and thus very many different requirements for a bike rack

I wouldn't worry about the rack, just get decent locks you can use to fix the bike to the rack. You can get ones which sound an alarm. You could also consider rigging them into a MH alarm. @eddievanbitz can supply.

Only two options really which are fiamma or omnistor
Are you thinking of fitting yourself ?
If not then the best solution is to seek a highly recommended fitter first and then get their advice
Well done on becoming a member you'll not regret it

Phil of Rhino installs is mobile and specialises in Fiamma
Other options include having one fitted as part of a trip
@eddievanbitz and @dave newell lvs are both top of the tree, further but have stopover facilities

Yes mine is a wind up and down Fiamma 77, quite expensive but handles more weight than the Thule Omnistor Equivalent.
Fitted myself so didn't hurt the wallet too much.
Some vans have reinforcements in the rear wall for fixing to rather than drilling right through which can be an issue if there is a bathroom or a kitchen at the back.
Mine too has fixing points within the rear wall but I chose to ignore them as Rapido stupidly offset them to allow for a ladder to one side. Consequently this often causes an issue with obstructing rear lights.
Any good fitter will know enough to establish the options

My kitchen and the shower is at the rear and would make awkward to drill through the rear of the van. My ladder is set to one side and rear window just off centre so would have to look carefully at the rack I get.

Why not a tow bar mounted bike rack?
Much more secure and no heavy lifting

Yes I agree but if you do not have a towbar it can be very expensive
I agree that tow bar mounted is more expensive, but if you're going to use your MH frequently, or if you're concerned about lifting, or if you don't want to drill through the back panel of your MH, then the cost of a tow bar may seem more affordable.

Towbar bike racks are dear too and unless you are not going to tow it's a very expensive fix that adds considerable weight too

I will be towing a trailor sometimes and might want to take my bike with me at same time ! I'd prefere the rack up out of the way.

I'm not convinced that tow bar bike racks are more expensive, our first one was about £250 and was capable of carrying two electric bikes.
We just had a tow bar fitted to our new MH and it's a very compact design.
I guess it's a compromise between ease of use, cost and weight.
With electric bikes, anything to reduce lifting is a benefit
Also being able to thread a security chain through the chassis of the MH and attach it to the bikes is another consideration.
I guess everyone's requirements are different

some tow bar mounted bike racks don't attach to the tow ball and allow you to have a trailer too

Yes but as I said they're ok if you are not wanting to tow too. EDIT
