Just had another door knocker, an Irish gentleman, asking if I wanted to sell our motorcaravan.
That is the third in about a year.

Persistent without being rude but I told him that I was not interested.

Have passed the details on to our local PCSO just for information.

I have just received the following reply from our local PCSO.

"Thank you for your e-mail. Unfortunately this sort of incident is very common ,and I believe I know the sort of individuals that would then return to your property and try and remove the motorhome while you were out for the day.

Please consider the following :-

Get a steering lock or a wheel clamp for the motorhome.

Tell your neighbours about the incident and explain them to keep their eyes out for this vehicle or similar transit vans.( Are you a member of neighbourhood watch group. Make them aware?)

Consider installing CCTV or a senor light to your property.

Consider moving the vehicle for a few weeks to another friends or family address.

Move the ignition keys away from the door and in a secret place.

I will of course submit an intel report about this matter making other agencies aware . I will also bear your address in mind when I am on patrol .

I don’t want to scare you and all the above ‘ advises’ is to prevent a worst case scenario . What I can tell you is the index you provided has no police markers against it for criminal behaviour.

If you need any further advised about the above please let me know."

Good to know that there is some help and advice out there..
