Is the weighbridge in a layby on the west bound A27 at Shoreham (just past the air crash site) still in use? If so is it just a case of driving up to it slowly and pressing a button? Don't think you have to pay do you?

We will be on that stretch of the road on Wednesday with the motorhome and would like to get it weighed if I can.

Used it last week. Dead easy - drive up to the traffic light, press the button and wait for the green light. Takes a couple of mins to set itself. Then just drive very slowly over the beam and read off the weights from the screen Obote the building. You will get your individual axle loads and then after a min or two, the total. All for free

Do make sure after pressing the button you reverse back & straighten up and try and drive centrally over the plates. I find the results can vary by 30-40kg so I usually go over it 3-4 times and take an average.
