Any good places you can recommend in these counties to stop at during middle two weeks of August? We haven't stayed in these counties at all. We would like somewhere near bus stops and as we are new to cycling somewhere nice and flatish.

We don't mind moving around but probably places will be full at that time of year and could be risky?

Thanks in advance

I clicked on lucksail park it looked very nice if a bit pricey for us but will consider it. Though at that time of year perhaps that's the sort of price???
Will look at others suggested later.
Thanks very much

Getting better month by month.
Cuckoo corner. Just outside Hereford. Adults only with bus stop outside entrance. Good facilities and good price. If he is still charging the same it is £100 per week.

If you like cycling consider Forest of Dean plenty of cycling trails most off road.
Camping in the Forest have a couple of good sites.

We've stayed at Lucksall, and yes what a great site. Do check though, there is a bus stop at the entrance, but if you have a dog, the bus company do not allow dogs to travel on their buses. We would recommend Ludlow Touring Park. Just a short walk into Ludlow which is a lovely town to while away few hours away. If you stay there don't forget to visit the Ludlow Food Centre on the Ludlow bypass.

Thanks there's some to look into now. We are going to Malvern motorhome show on 11 August and back to the venue again on 25th for the national feast of lanterns. We need to find somewhere not too far away between those two dates.

There's a good site in Hereford just a few mins walk to the cathedral -its at the Hereford rowing club-nice flat field, toilets ,water and elsan plus showers ( communal) it was £10 per night last year.

I'm a newbie
Stayed at lucksall a couple of times with the astronomy club I belong to, they have a star party there every March. This year it's 9th-14th March, if anyone is there on those dates they are a friendly bunch and will happily let you look through their telescopes( some the size of small artillery pieces) just be careful with torches, the only thing that annoys stargazers more than cloud is carelessly shone torches.

We always stop there on day 3 of our annual Wye kayaking trip, just seems to always be when Hereford "Beer on the Wye", beer festival is on :sneaky:

Thanks for your help. Briarfields is looking good. We looked to book on line it said they only had one place left but we couldn't book it for some reason so are going to phone this morning. If they are full we will have another search around. Thanks again for you recommendations.

Back home now after a stay at Briarfields. Great site, even though mid way almost everything apart from the heated toilet block froze up. Last 2 nights it was almost full. Stagecoach buses are now a new 'gold' fleet with comfortable seats, every 10 minutes to Gloucester/Cheltenham except Sunday, which is every 20 minutes. Based on our experience it's definitely worth putting on the visit list.
