Have always camped, caravaned or had boats. Now in our second year with the motorhome.
Done 400miles on brand new ford 2.2l 140 horses. Been cruising at 60 - 65 ish and averaged 28.8 mpg is this good / bad / average for low profile 5.9m bus.
Can I expect more (by how much) when the engine is run in a bit more ?

I have a Ford based 2.2 and have now done about 15000 miles, on our last trip to Scotland right to the top we got 33/34mpg on all types of roads.

Sounds right. Some claim a bit higher but they must be awfully steady drivers.

27-28 mpg @ about 55-60 mph when traveling good distances mixed with a little 'sightseeing'.

my rollerteam 600g fully laden to 3.85 ton does 25 mpg, but i don't give a damn what it does as the enjoyment i get out of it is beyond description.
just put the gas in when needed, and the space i have for carrying things is astronomical, saves me a fortune when on the continent.
enjoy your motorhomes that's what they are for.
feel like iv'e lost a family member took our bessie in today for warranty work.
( i'll have to talk to the wife while shes away)

HI....I have just done 4500km around France and mine has averaged 28mpg....6.8m van and 3.5ton low profile on a Fiat 130 multi jet (they may not go backwards but they are fine forwards) doing 100km on fast roads 90km on normal country roads and 50km through the villages.
and I think that is good
