We have stayed at Lierganes, next to the train track. at Feve. N432degrees 20.694'W003deg44.463'. About 20 mins from Santander. Some noise from the trains, but easy walk into town for shops, restaurants etc.

It is an aire, and is listed in the Spain and Portugal Aires book. There is water, and toilet dump, and plenty of spaces, even for large motorhomes.

Never leave a campsite with your clothes line tied to a lamp post.

Campacola,
We found the marina suited us just fine. Its a short drive from the dock and its quiet and in an area where we felt secure. No frills or facilities of any sort but its free and just the job when all you want to do is get a good nights sleep prior to the adventure proper the next day.

OK thanks for the feedback, will probably end up there after the ferry. Good luck with the rest of the journey.

@campercola The marina web site and campercontact page indicate that there is a charge to stay overnight. Only 6 Euros but will be good to have your feedback as to whether you are asked to pay or not.

Yes I had to pay €6 inc leccy, as the guy in a golf buggy type car came around. No complaints, good and frequent 24/7 marina security patrols, so it would be safe to leave the van and go onto town. Bit noisy during the morning but the night was quiet. Staying in the car park at Santillana del mar for free overnight, one other Spanish van here.

I didn't see one, but then I wasn't looking, some of the larger Intermarches have them (outside sometimes ) and larger motorway service stations.

according to google the nearest one is at a place called cervera de pisuerga 20 plaza mayor which is east up the cl-626. You can (and trust me I have done this) put your required stuff in a strong bin bag (or similar) with water and washing liquid in the shower tray whilst driving. Same for a rinse, the agitation of the MH going along the road does a reasonable wash!!!

Thanks but it's chucking it down here. Thunder and lightning. No way to dry it otherwise I'd have tried it.
