I am interested in upgrading the Blaupunkt system provided with my 2007 model Bolero to one which will allow me to hook up my iPod. Ideally I would like to buy something at Halfords and have them fit it, but I am concerned that the system might be a little more complicated than the ones they are accustomed to dealing with. The existing stereo has a DVD function, but it has been set up by the dealer not to play through the drop-down screen (which also acts as the reversing camera screen) or through the main TV (because the TV I had installed came with its own DVD player and has built-in freeview). Am I right in assuming, therefore, that replacing the stereo in the Swift would just be like replacing the stereo in a car? My biggest concern is that Halfords might do something which prevents the reversing camera from working and might do something which would invalidate the guarantee. At the same time, I dread to think what my dealer might charge to fit a stereo! Does anyone have any advice to offer me in my dilemma?
