Hi Guys and Dolls of course,

Me and the missus fancy having a couple days away in December and wondered if there were any good sites near a Christmas market or some such nearby?

Birmingham Christmas Market, and CC Chapel Lane site, good bus service both ways.

There are a selection of c/l's c/s's around the area, but can't confirm the availability of public transport.

Winchester - Stay at Morn Hill CC site if member, then park at Park & Ride and get bus into city, £2.50 (after 10.30) for all occupants up to 7 people. Dedicated MH bays at the South P&R, maybe at the others but we used the South one. All the stalls are within the cathedral grounds and there is also an ice-rink.

Lincoln is very good - and big. Park and ride is quick and efficient. No problem parking for MH's.

Maybe a bit far but we've just booked Eurotunnel for a long weekend in Cologne. It's meant to be good and the Stellplatz is close to the Cathedral. Cologne is about 4 hrs drive from Calais and the markets (there are 4 of them) start on 23rd November.

Depends how far you want to travel. Another suggestion is Chester and you can stay at The Roodee car/coach park overnight, which is only a few minutes walk into the centre. We're trying it this year.

Hi, if you are planning on going to the markets on a Saturday in December - don't do it.

Absolute chaos.

We only go in the evening for a few hot toddys plenty to do in the daytimes elsewhere.
