We appear to have an air lock but all taps and shower water is running freely and not spurting at all.
We did run low on water but refilled tank. The pump keeps coming on which makes me think air in the system but how can we fix it?

Could also be the pumps internal valves are slightly leaking allowing water to release back into the fresh tank under pressure.

I would think, if there was a minor airlock, once the air was compressed enough for the pump to switch off it would remain compressed until the tap was opened to release the pressure.
The trapped air will have nowhere to go so cant decompress in the sealed water system....unless theres a minor leak in the pipes, taps or pump valves.
If its a Fiamma or surflo pump they also have an adjuster for the switch off point (it DOESNT alter the pressure, only the switchoff point) which may help if its adjusted....or maybe not.

Not long enough!
You could try emptying all the water out, including the boiler then start again.

Just pressed the water button back on on control panel so I could empty the system but the noise has stopped so no need. :) So it appears to have solved itself.
Will have a look underneath to see if I can see any leaks when rain stops.Just for peace of mind.

Thanks folk.

So I seem to have spoke too soon. Flushed the toilet and pump noise came back. Now there is water pouring out from underneath, somewhere near the back wheel., it only empties when the pump is on.

Now im wondering if mum couldve accidentally knocked a lever or something when shes been rummaging about. ??

Sorry but when I saw the thread title my mind went stupid and all I could think of as a solution was to suggest you:

Sounds like you've got a leak I fear. Need to look underneath, ideally with someone inside who can turn the pump on so you can see where the water is coming from.

Yes at back wheel. No drain valve is closed. The pump is going mental. One minute its pulsing every couple of secs. We turn it off wait 10 mins then all seemed well til the toilet got flushed. Pump came on solidly and was dumping our water so we turned pump back off. Waited 10 min turned it on and it came on for 2 secs andwent off.
So at the moment its not dumping any more water.
Its too dark outside now so we will wait til morning and try and see whats going on.

Sounds a bit odd that. If a pipe had sprung a leak (water under van) then it wouldn't switch off at all. If it was an airlock it wouldn't leak water under the van. The only dump valve I am aware of it the dhw heater dump valve???

Well it done it again..So having had the pump switched off for a while, and our water tank depleted to a quarter tank I put it on briefly to get some water and my goodness the amount of spurting that came out of the tap..finally! Turned the bathroom tap on and that spurted a little. Refilled the water tank and all has been well for several hours now. So it seems to have fixed itself for the moment :)

What type of pump do you have. If you have a ssubmersible pump in the tank these can get an air lock just above the non return valve. If diphrame pump could be a leak or pressure valve playing up

many many years! since I was a kid
probably an automatic dump valve. if the temperature drops, it opens the valve to dump the water to prevent damage. a quick and dirty fix is a clothes peg on the knob, but only when using the van.....sounds eye wateringly painful though

I don't know your system but my Autotrail 634U, 2006 model, had the pump mounted on the wall under one of the sofas, Sureflow I believe it was, pleased to see that it has sorted itself out, permanently we hope.
Take care,
Norman.
