If you actually read the article (and remember newspapers need stories to sell themselves) the two were drugged up and it was locals who detained them. As above this kind of thing happens everywhere - guns in USA, does that stop people going there?

Agree Fez has been known for a while to be a bit of a black spot, which is why I've always suggested people avoid it. But we're still going.

Living the dream.
The authorities and people of these countries that rely massively on tourism will have to sort security out if they wish the industry to survive in their country. Turkish resorts are on their knees after the killings, Egypt next and anywhere else where life is cheap.
It has been said today that security at the Airport in Egypt was dire. Sometimes bags were checked but often not. I bet that doesn't happen again but it's too late now the terrorists have won and we are terrorised. The locals in Fez seem to realise which side their breads buttered on and caught the lads and handed them in. Well done (y)

What do we do when the UK gets a red, high risk terror alert? Hide?

Living the dream.
What makes you think that we don't have our own drugged up maniacs?
We do and knife crime, but foreign tourists haven't to my knowledge been attacked with knives in broad daylight while on a shopping trip in any town/city centre.

Not long enough, but a little common sense helps..........
I notice in that report that Spain and France are also labelled as a higher risk areas. Worrying times for travellers, be safe out there people.

EUROPEAN tourists have been horrifically attacked in broad daylight on a holiday in Morocco by men wielding knives when a sight-seeing tour turned to terror.

http://www.express.co.uk/news/world...ed-knives-British-holiday-hotspot-destination

Not a pleasant experience for the two German tourists. The following was stated in the same link.

Two young men aged 21 and 25 were arrested on site after locals detained them running from the attack.

It is not yet known what prompted the assault but a police investigation is already underway.

Locals allege that the two men ingested Karkoubi, a psychedelic drug that has been known to spark extreme aggression and even psychotic episodes that can cause permanent brain damage.

So! In essence we have an incident that is probably quite common in many countries, including here in the UK and not out of the ordinary. No doubt because this was caught on Film it got more attention than it would otherwise have got.

Also in the media very recently is the following and IMO gives a more balanced and unbiased view as to the risks involved in Morocco.

Because there was no evidence to suggest otherwise. That has now changed and the latest reports indicate that there was a bomb on board. This has come from joint British and USA intelligence. Today it is also reported one of the French black box experts has stated the bomb can be heard going off on the cockpit recorder.

My first reaction was that it had to be a bomb....... just surprised it took the 'experts' so long......... or rather so long to admit it........ politics

Israel has seen many such attacks in the last few weeks.......

Israel's new terror http://edition.cnn.com/2015/11/03/middleeast/israels-new-terror-after-jerusalem-knife-attacks/

Most of the recent attacks appear to have been unplanned, uncoordinated and largely unpredictable, using knives or other sharp objects, making them difficult to prevent.

"Everyone says, 'It won't happen, it won't happen,'" Sharabi says in his bakery, "and then it happens to them."
