Thanks

Very reluctant sale, such a strong, safe and luxurious vehicle.

I doubt we shall buy anything as nice again.

As I said, offers welcome. Would make a superb Ski Motorhome for a couple or family of four. Great Weekend van, long term with awning or even better than a RV/Motorhome?Campervan?van towing a toad. This motorhome could tow a big caravan and be used as a toad!. Lots of options and capabilities.

The Dogs.....

The dealers had the Motorhome for just over 4 years from delivery. It was be exported to the middle east but never left. They were stored indoors and we purchased it as a Demonstrator pre-registered with 30kM on the clock. It was Brand new and is still in beautiful condition.

We have added many options since purchase including MB Fitted Cruise control and MB Upgraded Diesel heater to pre-heat the engine or as an Emergency Backup to the Truma Gas Heater. We have just taken it to Mercedes for a check-up. No faults had all the tests done.

Someone will buy it soon...

Hi,
I've been told to find out more about your La Strada - she's in love with the cream leather upholstery!!
So,
What is the unladen vehicle weight at present with all the add-ons?
I'm nearly 70 so will be limited to 3.5t soon.:(
If it is downrated from 3.8 to 3.5 what margin is there for a couple of bicycles, a few everyday items plus water and fuel?
We have a 2004 Westfalia James Cook which we've had since 2007.
This is a top-of-the-range Sprinter conversion but no cream leather!

We had a 2003 James Cook 316 until last October when we replaced it with a La Strada Regent L 319...with cream leather:)!
We spent all Summer away in it this year so have got to know it well...more sophisticated than the JC as you'd expect from a newer design...but very similar in overall concept.
I can vouch for La Strada build quality...rattle free and feels very solid and composed on the road.
The 3L V6 motor with 7 speed auto is a delight to drive....:)

Looks a lovely van but out of my price range but have been looking at a 2007 la Strada Trento. I like the idea of a drop down bed in a pvc but when I'm still in bed it's not very convenient for hubby to have brekkie and read or take dogs out, would have to get uo same time :D

When the drop down bed is down in the Regent L there is nothing to stop you making a cuppa in the kitchen area or sitting in the living area below the bed...or opening the sliding door. The Trento must have a lower roof height I guess.

Just after we bought our van from Edgehill motorhomes in 2011 we saw a very similar van in their yard. It was a 2008 model fully loaded and looked fantastic, especially at the price offered, £38k. If we hadn't already just bought ours I would have snapped it up but such is life. Never seen one in the flesh since then, but it looked amazing and our friends had a much smaller and older La Strada at the time and vouched for the quality. Good luck with the sale, someone will get a beauty. Gary

That's interesting thanks, I was just going by photos, making a cuppa no probs but didn't look like a lot of room under bed, might have to go and see in flesh.(y)

We keep our drop-down bed down all the time in the James Cook. You have to bend down just a bit but as it's over the seating area we are sitting most of the time anyway!

Hi Mike and Annie,

In 3500kG, the payload as a maximum is 320kG.

That is bare bones.

I have fitted lightweight LPG AluGas
I have fitted a towbar (for bike rack (never towed)).
I have fitted small lightweight solar and sat dish (Currently removed)

You could remove the last two to gain the extra payload.

We had it uprated as we have the c1 licenses and were 49 ! We also tend to travel fully loaded. Bikes, water, booze, boat. All a recipe for fun and disaster.

What is your Westafilia valued at?

We are selling for numerous reasons. I will miss it as will our Grandchildren ;)

Please let me know?

Frankia on order
Exp
Newbie
I spent years researching a van and this was my final choice... until I changed my mind for a larger MH.
My reason for eventually opting for a larger van (a Frankia A class) was consideration of day to day living comfort (space, basically), as well as storage for more "stuff", with my plans for long-term touring. For that I have compromised on the easier driving, parking, better mpg & cheaper ferries of the smaller Nova (6.36m as opposed to the Frankia's 8m).

From all that I read I was totally persuaded by La Strada build quality and especially on the Sprinter chassis. There are always only a very few for sale as I was in the habit of checking Mobile.de for 3 years. I think this van is a snip at £60k and will be a lucky purchase for whoever gets it.

Reading this thread and seeing the pic of the lovely Nova has almost given me second thoughts, especially at this price.
Best of luck with the sale Trevor

Guess what our last motorhome was!

frank2.jpg

Same Engine but Manual Gearbox.

We wanted to downsize to a campervan. But a camper was too small and most had no bathroom.

The La Strada with its huge Garage and clever storage was perfect for us. Full bathroom with separate toilet too.
