I've currently given ourselves two days travel with one overnight somewhere near Zarogoza to get from Bilbao to Benidorm, about 475 miles.

The first day off the boat though won't begin until after 12:45pm, if it's on time.

Having an extra night making the trip in three days almost seems to long...but I'm now worried that two days isn't enough .

This is a new route for us, any thoughts?

Dave:):):)

I allow 1 hour after the ferry arrival time to get out of the port and consider anything less a bonus. Personally, I would attempt to get south of Zaragoza before stopping for the night but I do have something of a reputation for 'cracking on'.

Is getting that far doable on day one?

I believe it is and I do not drive fast. However, depends what time you like to stop at the end of the day. I would input the following aires into my satnav and see how far I get:

Carinena: 41.3382, -1.2306

Calamocha: 40.918843, -1.293624

These aires are not fantastic but, in my opinion, adequate for a quick one night stop.

Err ,that's an afternoons drive for me. 2 days is plenty. Even if you didn't get away until 3pm drive for 5 hours , even at 50mph , & you've done half the journey.(y)

Cheers Gus-lopez, you're making it sound a piece of cake...you clearly did better at maths than I did at school :).

Have a good trip, I'd be grateful for some feedback if you use either the aires or Zaragoza :) Dave

Staying at one of the aires will save you about 20 Euros and also save time (no checking in at camp site etc.) and no problem with late arrival and/or early departure :)

Has anyone used these airs: Campercontact 24462-Parking Camino del Pantano Logrono or 15043-Area de Cascante, on this route?
We don't want to be parked in the middle of nowhere on our own.
Thanks David.

Google Earth puts it here, looks a bit remote, my experience of some camperstop coordinates is that they can quite a bit out as I've just found earlier with the Zaragoza spot I'm looking at!

Depends on the weather & when you are going, my mate was stuck in the snow for two days last winter.

I don't know about @Greenway , but we're heading off in just over a couple of weeks, but I think for us from Bilbao the Zaragoza route seems best.

Wednesday and returning on 1st March. Did Santander to Savilla last year (same dates)and saw plenty of snow leaving and returning to Santander but no problems with roads.
I have looked at Google Earth, that's why I have asked if anyone has stayed on the airs as they do seem remote. This is not a problem if other motorhomes on site.
Don't want to drive too far each day and want some alternatives if ferry is delayed.

We travelled down from Bilbao to Benidorm 10 days ago. Our overnight stop was at the service area at Sobradiel near to Zaragossa. We have been overnighting at Sobradiel for the past 4 years without any problems. The journey from Sobradiel to Benidorm took us a little over 5 hours. Toll charges were €32.05 from Bilbao to Sobradiel and €13.05 from Valencia to Benidorm. The road from Zaragossa to Valencia is toll free.
Safe journey,
Brisey.
