hi ive just recived my road tax reminder for my burstner 747, 2008.
it is classified as (private HGV) ?.
i passed my car test in 1990 but have never took a HGV and not going too either

dont worry about it ozzy, you're licenced for driving upto 7500kg anyway.

it'll be registered as an HGV because its over 3500kg which is the weight limit for a heavy motorcar (licence catagory 'B' i think).

Private HGV covers everything from 3.5t up to 44t providing you are licenced to drive upto that weight.

thats correct, been cheaper for a few years. also only need 1mm of tread on tyres . comes into lots of different things now.

no ,any vehicle over 3,500kg is large goods.its classed as private and cannot be used to sell goods from. all large goods can be ran private . used to be same tax as car but all changed a while back.

construction n use all goods vehicles over 3,500kg must have at least 1mm across 3/4 of breadth of tread etc. after all its now phgv .n its gross weight is over 3.5 it must be legal.we dont make the rules but must abide by them .if you dont know the rules you cant abide by them. all the info is available through your local dvla. or look on web.
