Hi all.
I know this is a bit of a "how long is a piece of string" question.
How high would you build a shed for your current and any future motorhome.

We have a 6 berth which is 3.2 metres high
We are in the process of getting a lean to shed built to keep it in so we are aiming for the shed to be 3.6 metres at the lowest internal point and 4.25 metres at the highest.
Would you think that would be enough to cover any van if we changed in the future.

Cheers

Need at least 3.5 at the doorway, 3.6 would be better, won't leave much room for climbing up and polishing the roof though.

Motorhomes do seem to be getting taller.

Check with your council planning office on what is permitted as you may not be allowed to go as high as you wish!

Dig down the floor is the other way around the height issue.

Or pretend you are a farmer and get agricultural buildings permissions.....

Cynical but probably very apt?. Long story, but our local planners tried every dirty trick in the book when a local group objected to a Farmer "Industrialising" Land to create a Massive Stinking, potentially explosive, Bio-Digester scheme Yards from the village primary school.

Fantastic, I'm loving it....it's amazing the lengths we go to once we get "motorhome fever" Any structure be it 3.2 or 4 mts high will not be cheap to build and all for the love of our motorhomes. Excellent :)

Can I come and park under it in the winter if your away, I presume there'll be a fresh water tap and an EHU point available too :)

Pictures when it's done please :)

Slightly tounge in cheek but yes if you buy a property with a farm number or can convince (or otherwise;)) a planner you are using it for agriculture you can get a massive shed built with the minimum of fuss.
If you live in a farming Mafia controlled council even better (y)

11yrs, but many years a tugger.
Our Motor Home is 3.75m tall, plus, so I can walk around on top, another 1.8m, plus a likkle bit so as not to knock my bald bonce, so 6m at the eves and 4m at the door, would be about right for me. :mask:

Min of 15 feet to the eaves.
Leaves it higher inside provided the roof is pitched.
I've opened mine on the eaves side with 2 roller doors giving me access to the shed even with MH inside. Total floor area is 2200 feet.

Regardless of planning - if it is going to be over 30 square metres in floor area it WILL need building regulations consent.

Oh bugger, you're right, never looked that far ahead....I could sell the Autotrail and get a Konleaky, apparently they auto dump wherever they want :giggler::think::shake:

For Sale: 1 Autotrail Dakota....excellent condition, requires both Grey and Black tanks emptying. Will consider PX with a Swift Konleaky with the auto Grey waste dump valve fitted :clap2::rofl::rofl:

Clever ole Bear :notworthy2::cheers:

If you leave it open on 2 sides (for a while ;)) it becomes a car port (for a while ;)).
Yes, but sometimes there are still restrictions on size/location. I've just noticed that you are looking to put a 'lean' on it of 65cm, over 2 foot - that seems a lot - even our 2 garages only have a 1ft drop from back to front and one of them's 18ft.
