Have a 2008 Bessacarr E560 with a water pump that causese people to duck when operated - sounds like a machine gun!! Any suggestions? Rubber mounts seem ok but maybe a little stiff! Other than that the MH is super except for the reverse reversing camera, which Swift have willingly agreed to change.

Hi and :welcome:There can be several reasons why water pumps make noises
could be that the pump bearings are worn ( check if it gets hot)

could be the mountings ( unscrew from the mountings see if the noise dissapears)

could be air in the system causing pipes to vibrate ( ensure all taps are bled and pipe runs securred)

If the pump is worn out a replacement would be reqired. What make of water pump do you have?

Regards

Hello Guy

Sometimes the screws holding the pump to the rubber dampers have been tightened to much which limits the damping effect of the rubber mountings, try slackening slightly to see if it helps it's one of those trial and error things until you get it just right.

Regards John.

I will try this later this week and let you know. Cheers:Smile:. Otherwise I have some idea of mounting unit in similar fashion to an ABS module. Will let you know outcome if interested.

Not long enough
Ours has always been noisy from day one, not as bad on 12 volt only, thought about putting a polystyrene box round it.

Hi,

You need to try and insulate it from the mounting board which acts as a 'drum'

A section of hose pipe can work. Mount the pump on one side of the pipe (nuts and bolts) and then fix the pipe to the board using wood screws, cut the ends of the pipe diagonally for mounting on board.
