It will be somewhere in your mail's settings. But it will depend on which app/program you are using for your mail handling to tell you just where to look.

Presuming that you are referring to 'reply to watched thread' notifications, go to the thread(s) that you have replied to and at the top of the page opposite the thread title you will see 'unwatch thread'. Click on this and then confirm it and it will be changed to 'watch thread'. This should stop an email notification every time someone adds to the thread.
Hope this helps

Depends what the're about,if about watched threads go to
'Watched threads' this lists all the threads you are watching,
click on 'manage threads' and disable email notification.
You'll be surprised how many you are watching,I was,now deleted most of them.

Need to unwatch this before I forget!

Click on your name, top right on the menu bar next to 'In-Box' Then choose Alert Preferences work through those, switching off what you don't want. There is also some switches in 'Preferences' found the same way.

It is just the Emails I would like to stop. The "on" forum alerts when I log in are useful so I would prefer not to stop those.

It seems in order to stop Email alerts I would have to stop all of them ?

When you click 'Watch' a thread, it asks you if you want just Alerts, or Emails as well. Just select the 'without emails' option.

@Charlie :
Click on your name (top right on the dark blue menu bar)
Click on "Preferences"
This lists a number of Options and for option you also have the option of "and receive email notifications" which you can switch off WITHOUT switching off the alerts

Or, try this simple remedy if you want to stop emails of any kind. For example this site sends a notice email, scroll to the bottom of the email and you will see "unsubscribe", click on this and you most probably will be taken to the sites section where they ask "are you sure you want to unsubscribe" then it is up to you, job done(y), simples no more emails period.
